The journey begins...

In 2009 at the age of 15 Roman went back to his home country Latvia to take part in the biggest freestyle competition “Red Bull Street Style”. All participants in the tournament were considerably older than him, making the trip and tournament an even more daunting and nerve racking experience. Despite this, Roman proved that no matter what age you are it’s all about 2 things: passion and the skills you have. Roman was declared the winner of the prestigious 'Red Bull Street Style' tournament and from this day on his life completely changed...

2010 saw Roman travel to South Africa to compete in the Red Bull Street Style world finals. The tournament consisted of only the very best football freestylers in the world competing for the 2010 world champion title. Roman just missed out on the quarter final stage (last 16) which was a huge achievement regardless of not getting through further. Not only had he competed against some inspirational competitors he had also retained and gained huge respect in the freestyle football scene on a world wide scale. His achievements and success has now lead to Roman working for big companies all over the world by showcasing his skills at events, promotions and on TV adverts.

In 2012 Roman realised that freestyle football to him is not just a way to earn money and entertain others but also inspire others at the same time.

With the sport of football freestyle rapidly increasing, in 2013 Roman decided to share his passion and experience with kids visiting schools and community clubs to inspire young people doing freestyle football. In March 2013 Roman was offered a volunteering grant which he directed towards starting after school freestyle club which is going from strength to strength, and which has really helped kids channel their unspent energy into something rewarding and social helping them to really realise their potential and what they can achieve with a bit of focus.

More recently, he has just completed a three month project working with Pepsi in Zambia, performing at over 60 promotional events across the country. He was the star of a major advertising campaign across Zambia, with his image and skills appearing on digital billboards and TV adverts. He has also performed in front of Grassroots soccer global directors, CEO’s of companies such as Pepsi, Toyota and other Zambian businesses. In the meantime when Roman wasn’t doing shows for Pepsi he got involved with Grassroots Soccer and worked together in order to help people to prevent from HIV & AIDS.

Roman has identified his ultimate passion and aim in life which is to inspire young people through freestyle football."
